The APS-705 is a family of Search and Surveillance Airborne Radars equipping AB-212 ASW, SH-3D and EH-101 helicopters of Italian Navy. The APS-717 is in service with Italian Coast Guard AB-412 and Italian Air Force HH-3F and G-222 for Search and Rescue/Transport missions.

INFRA-RED SEARCH AND TRACK SYSTEMS

Prime Contractor within the EUROFIRST European consortium with Tecnobit and Thales Optronics for the IRST/FLIR system named PIRATE (Passive Infra-Red Airborne Tracking Equipment), for Eurofighter aircraft.

The PIRATE operates both in the Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground modes and performs automatic Search-And-Track over a wide Field Of View, inside which a number of selectable Fields Of View can be used for acquisition, single-target tracking and imaging functions for identification, navigation and landing aid, including the SIRPH mode (Steerable Infra-Red Picture onto the Helmet), i.e. the display of the IR image on the helmet visor when the IRST is slaved to the pilot’s Line Of Sight.

SKYWARD: Signal and Data processor unit designed and developed to automatically operate real-time search, detection, acquisition and track of multiple targets within the thermal IR bands.

NAVAL AND COASTAL RADARS

SPS-702 family and new R.A.S.S.,jointly developed with Alenia Marconi Systems, are x band Naval Radars devoted to surface and Over-The- Horizon (O.T.H.) surveillance on board of different vessel classes.

TPS-828 is a mobile Coastal Radar System capable to cover the needs for long range surface and O.T.H. surveillance.

LAND BASED RADAR

VPS-A05 and VPG-A06 are combined Search and Tracking Radar for air-defence weapon systems and complete management of SHORAD and V-SHORAD systems. VPS-A05 and VPG-A06 equip the AMRAD Anti Aircraft armoured vehicle of OTOBREDA.

RASCAL is a Short-Range Air Surveillance Radar system, adopting a solid state, LPI, S band, pulse doppler radar sensor, featuring high S.C.V. and automatic tracking capability.

RASCAB is a Short-Range Battlefield Surveillance Radar suitable to new generation RECCE/Scout vehicles. It features a pulse doppler millimetric sensor and provides true all-weather capabilities of target acquisition, classification and automatic extraction of target position.

ASTRID is the primary Radar Sensor for Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System airport architecture, providing the automatic tracking of aircraft routing in airport area (taxiways and runways).
A millimetric wave version is under development for APRON control.
